My Car is not a Climbing Frame!

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009 by Baz_k

I would just like to say thank you to the person or persons who decided to pile wheelie bins and recycle boxes over my car, and then have also been walking over the roof and bonnet.

Whoever it was is either an adult or an older teenager due to the size of the foot marks which were clearly visible in the frost.

I do understand that people like to have a laugh when drinking or whatever, but seriously!

Thankfully there is no lasting damage to what is a hire car, but I just hope that mine was the only one affected and not others!

Kingsway Primary School PTA

Friday, January 23rd, 2009 by Clive

Phoenix brought this letter home from School yesterday, I thought it was worth publishing it here in case yours “didn’t make it”

Dear Parents and Friends of Kingsway Primary School:

Several families have now approached me about starting up our very own Kingsway Primary School Parent Teacher Association or PTA.
As this is such an excellent idea, I think it is time to move this idea forward some more.

I would therefore like to invite all parents and even grandparents, to an initial meeting at the school on:

Friday 20th March at 6:30pm - 7:30pm

So that we get as many parents along as possible, pre-school or primary aged children can come to this meeting BUT must be quiet so the adults can talk. Ideally children should stay at home if this can be organised.

As the headteacher, I will be very involved with the work of the PTA and have lots of practical ideas for raising funds and for getting people involved. I know that with your backing and ideas, we can really start to offer a range of social events for our community and raise money for the school too.

Website Issues

Friday, January 23rd, 2009 by Clive

An ancillary piece of software which I use to manage our article submissions was updated late in December.
Yesterday I discovered a bug with the upgrade which may have caused us to lose articles submitted since January 1st :(

I saw a submission from Baz_k dated January 1st - wishing everybody a happy new year… Sadly I was unable to retrieve it (sorry Baz… but it’s old news now anyway - lol)!
If anybody else submitted an article which got lost, I apologise, please resubmit.

The same problem also caused a link on the article submissions page to become temporarily broken… Sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

And whilst I’m on the subject of this site; if anybody has any ideas for things/facilities/subjects which you would like to see included, please let me know… (I have made the same request in the past, but I like to take the opportunity to mention it from time-to-time, to save new members from having to read the entire site) :)

Black Kitten found on Thatcham Avenue

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 by jimmy

Coming back home I found a small black kitten with white tie.

She wears a pink collar with gems but no name or phone tag.

She is in warm now but I can’t keep her too long, (my other two cats are not happy to have a stranger around)!

Please contact me if she is yours at kskylarkatgmaildotcom

(I wonder if it’s the same cat holbeach miserable was writing about)!
