Networking for small business in Kingsway

Monday, July 1st, 2013 by busylissie

I’m in the process of arranging a networking event for small business owners in Kingsway.
(Note: Now arranged - See Comments below)

I’ve recently set up my own business (LissieBee - Keepingyouindependent.com). Since setting it up I’ve been invited to two different networking events but I couldn’t make either, so I’m going to arrange one, more local.

If anyone would like to be emailed an invitation when it’s all arranged, please drop me a line and I’ll send one out, it will more than likely be one evening during the week, maybe the Barn Owl, end of July… To be done monthly.

Thanks,
Lissie

Christian School Open Day

Friday, June 22nd, 2012 by busylissie

If anyone is considering an alternative to mainstream school, we are having an open day at The School of the Lion.

The school is located on the main A40 Gloucester to Ross trunk road, 4 miles west of the city of Gloucester.

Both my 12 year old and 5 year old attend this school and love it. It’s an amazing Christian independant school, with a Christian curriculum and small classes.

Our website (www.schoolofthelion.org) gives information about the school, and if you’re interested in knowing more, please come along to our open day on the 26th of June, to meet us and the children.

Lock Your Car - Including the Boot!

Friday, June 1st, 2012 by busylissie

I came home Tuesday night after babysitting for a friend, it was only midnight. I caught sight of a couple of young men running past my house, which was a bit unusual, so I came in the house, kept the lights off and watched them steal from 2 unlocked cars (they tried all of the cars out there)…

They stole a stereo and things out of the boot etc. They blatantly did it - no hiding; one kept watch and the other checked out the car. I suspect they hit more than just the cars I saw them do, as they had a carrier bag which they were filling (they stood in the street checking the booty too)!

The men were between 17 and 19 at a guess; one was about 5′ 11″ and the other maybe 5′ 6″, both skinny. One had short dark hair (shaved - no style), and the other fairer / longer hair, but he had a brown cap on, so it was hard to tell. They both had brown jeans (one was darker than the other). The one with the lighter jeans had a white T-Shirt with long sleeves pushed up his arm, the other had a dark T-Shirt on, with his jeans round his butt (I hear it’s a style thing - he looked like an idiot in my opinion)!
I have only given a description here just in case anyone saw these men going home Tuesday night and saw where they are… We need to stand together as a community against this sort of stuff.

Of course I called The Police while it was happening and even though they arrived within less than 3 minutes or so of them leaving, they were unable to find them.

What this whole experience has shown me is that these thieves are opportunists who will take what they can, so don’t give them the opportunity… Lock your cars people, lock your gates, and lock your sheds.

Christian School Open Day

Friday, May 25th, 2012 by busylissie

Hi,

I live in Kingsway, but my 2 children go to school in Church, to a Christian independent school in Churcham. I wasn’t aware of it before I look specifically for it, so I just want to let you guys know we’re here and we’re having an open day in June and we’re inviting people from the local community to take a look round and consider supporting us.

We have places available next September (From 3- pre-school to 19) and I personally couldn’t recommend it more highly! Our website is down presently but we can be found here for now.

Any queries please call, and we would be happy to speak to you.
