Quedgeley Parish Council Garden Competition 2008

Saturday, May 10th, 2008

Quedgeley Parish gardeners and residents are being urged to get their hands muddy as the Parish Council are launching an annual Garden Competition that it is hoped will be the first of many.

The event is organised to recognise and reward the hard work that so many of our parish residents put in to their gardens etc. The tremendous efforts of many of our gardeners are so often overlooked and this is an opportunity for these residents and groups to receive the praise they deserve.

Parish Councillor Bryan Claridge says “I think it is vital to appreciate how something like this competition can play its part in promoting Quedgeley as a village that encourages pride in its environment and community.”

Shields and rosettes will be awarded in the following categories: Front Garden Class, Back Garden Class, School & Communal Garden Class and Under 15 Display Class. Judging will take place during the second week in August 2008 with presentation of awards being held in the Quedgeley Community Centre on 30th August.

Entry is FREE and entry forms are available from the Parish Office at 9C the Old School House, School Lane, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4PJ or can be e-mailed to you if you contact us on [email protected]

The Closing date is Friday 25th July 2008
