Marham Drive - Parking

Sunday, May 26th, 2013 by SSTAR

I am getting fed up with the cars which keep parking on the entrance to Marham Drive. This morning there were 4 cars parked there, one being a white Mini which was completely obstructing the view.

It’s getting beyond a joke, no thought for other road users or pedestrians using the footpath. The double yellow lines should have been continued around into Marham Drive. Who can we contact to get this sorted out before an accident happens?

New Trees Damaged - Kids!

Thursday, March 7th, 2013 by SSTAR

New trees were planted recently in the area off Marham Drive near the brook.

Over the last 2 evenings I have witnessed three young children pulling out the trees/canes and then hitting the plastic coverings off! I did ask them not to do this and they were quite apologetic and went on their way.

Their play language wasn’t too pleasant either, I had to distract my five year old so he wouldn’t hear it… Disgraceful!

I just hope they don’t come back and pull the rest out…
Why do this?
Boredom perhaps??

Thatcham Avenue Parking

Is anyone getting fed up to the back teeth with the inconsiderate individuals parking opposite Marham Drive?

This morning there were 3 cars parked on the kerb opposite, which makes it risky when pulling out onto Thatcham Avenue, especially if you are turning right. It also stops people walking on the pavement because they are parked on it. There is just no consideration or thought when parking there.

I’m fed up with it!

Where are the double yellow lines?

Vandals (Plant Pot Re-Sited)

Sunday, February 5th, 2012 by SSTAR

On having several snowballs pelted at our lounge windows around 6.30pm last night, we awoke to find my magnolia plant pot sat on the ice in the balancing pond… Not a happy sight on a Sunday morning!

Whoever did this must be quite strong as it is very heavy.

It was taken off my property, over the black railings and carried - or rolled into the pond.

Those who did this are mindless individuals and have no respect for others or their properties.

Beware!

State of the Park

I have a young toddler who we take to the big park as he loves playing football. The large open space is ideal for him to have a kick around.
Last week I took him at about 2pm and it was great, quiet and enjoyable as on previous occasions we have been there later on in the day when the school children have been there, on a few occasions I have felt intimidated by some of the children/teenagers there and we have left. The language is terrible and I don’t want my toddler listening to it.

Last week my son asked if we could go over to the park and play in the skateboard area. I agreed and he played with his ball, rolling it down the ramps. As he was playing I noticed there was lots of broken glass around the edges of the fencing, green glass mainly. There were also small particles of glass on the whole surface of the play area. Why is this glass there?

Why hasn’t it been cleaned up? It’s dangerous. I took a photo, this needs clearing away, safety comes first.
