Injured Cat Found

Monday, December 29th, 2008 by tog

Today we found an injured cat by our back garden gate - a long furred grey/brown tabby - wearing a gold collar.

We were trying to establish the cats injures in our kitchen and it looked like he had been struck on the back legs, we think by a car but not 100% certain.

We took the cat to the Animal Hospital in Quedgeley.
The vet said he was in shock and had very little pulse… (for further information please call him on 01452 520056).

I do hope he recovers to full health.

Accident on Thatcham Avenue

Friday, December 5th, 2008 by tog

Has anyone any news on the accident halfway down Thatcham Avenue last night (03-12-08)? I just hope the young motorclist was not too badly injured.

What I could see was the Police and Ambulance were in attendance with all the traffic backed up on Thatcham Avenue, which makes me think back to the old question about the illegally parked cars blocking the road in Thatcham Avenue; if those cars had not been there, traffic could have still got through.

This has been an accident waiting to happen. I have seen these young lads going past our house at very high speeds. It’s about time we had a 20mph speed limit on Thatcham or what about a few speed humps on the road to stop Mr Barry Sheen and his friends going so fast.

Turning Kingsway into a Dump

Sunday, September 14th, 2008 by tog

I’ve just come down Valley Gardens road by the new school, with some friends who wanted to have a look around Kingsway with a view to buying a house here. What we were confronted with was an old bed and mattress, some ripped floor coverings, a pile of old discarded cardboard and newspapers!

Apart from being a complete eyesore, this will also encourage rats and other vermin.

Have the people who dumped this rubbish no pride in there surroundings?
I feel sorry for the people who do try and keep Kingsway a clean place to live.

The footnote to my story is that my friends have not been put off buying here!

I only hope the County Council or who ever’s job it is gets this rubbish moved quickly and either fines the culprits or gives them a good talking to.
