Items Stolen from my Front Garden
Friday, May 9th, 2014Hi,
I love my garden and I spend a lot of time on it, keeping it tidy.
I have entered the gardening competition for the last two years.
A lot of people stop me to ask for gardening tips and to say how lovely the garden is looking.
But today I found that someone has opened my gate - either last night or during the early hours of this morning, and has unscrewed my four wooden garden knobs off of my very large planter at the front, and taken the trellis off it.
They have also taken my two large wrought-iron planters off the wall (after emptying the soil out of them), and stolen my lovely wicker pigs that used to sit in the middle of the garden.
I am so angry at the moment!
I have had all the items for over six years and they have been safe until now.
The matter has been reported to the police.
Whoever you are, I hope you feel really guilty.

Afternoon Pasty53,
We echo your words of anger and upset toward the mindless destruction/theft from your garden - garden which should be appreciated for the benefits it’s shows toward the community rather than treated this way.
We too suffered similar costly incidents - these were repeated by those mindless yobs after our attempts toward correcting the damage/theft they caused. We took action via the installation of cctv. Thankfully, this captured their revisit, and the police took the required action.
cctv doesn’t have to be either expensive or considered a negative response understanding it’s ability to obtain the required results which no-longer take place whilst they remain in-place monitoring our home!

Hi pasty53,
That’s horrible and I’m very sad to hear it 😥
I was tempted to change the title to “Stolen from my garden: Pigs” but you sound far too nice to “be credited” with thinking that up.
I’m not though, and I hate mindless vandalism and theft… So I hope they feel guilty too (‘though they’ll most likely need to grow up - or sober up, first)! 👿
I do hope this doesn’t put you off, and you can get it back to being beautiful without too much time and expense; a nice garden is an asset to the whole community.
