Right, I’ve never done the book club thing and one of my friends who is about to move here has been and she may have talked me around to giving it a go, especially as Im having another phase of trying almost anything new in terms of authors. My main stream reading is stuff from John Grisham, Tom Clancy, to Dick Francis and Jeffery Archer and other random stuff. I tend to find a book that I like and then trying to read all the stuff they do which generally works, but have found some clangers, lol.
However as I could be a newbie to this, can you tell me what you get up to and how it works?

Hi Clive
THanks for reminding me that I hadn’t posted which book we’re reveiwing!!
It’s ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ by Sue Monk Kidd. I haven’t bought or read it yet so had better get my skates on…
I used to read a lot but now that I have Harriet I don’t seem to have the time. But I do try to make myself read more as it is very relaxing. When I go on holiday, like you, I always have more than one book with me from all types of authors. My current favourites are murder and crime novels so the likes of James Patterson, Jeffrey Deaver etc.
Hope to see lots of people at our book club meeting on 17th.

Hi Clare,
Glad to hear you’re all still reading away… What book are you reading at the moment?
I’m a bit of an avid reader really… Can’t get to sleep without “doing a chapter or two” 😆
During the ’90’s I was travelling a lot with work. I never went abroad without at least 2 books in my bag and - luckily for me - I once picked up a book by David Gemmel from the departure lounge at Birmingham airport… After reading it I gradually purchased the rest of his collection and now own his entire works (which I’ve read at least 5 or 6 times - lol)… He is my favourite author in recent years; I was devastated when he passed away in July 2006 🙁
I read many genres of fiction, being most keen on fantasy and crime novels.
I’m also a fan of David Eddings, Anne McCaffrey and Jeffrey Archer (amongst many others)!
