In need of reassurance

Created by kitty-kat1989

Hi There,

My boyfriend and I have just purchased a beautiful home in Kingsway and I was just hoping for some reassurance about the area.

The property is near the Barn Owl and I was wondering if anybody has any problems with that area? You hear things about every area you live in so I thought best to ask the people that live in Kingsway already rather than believe what you hear!

I also have a cat who is currently an indoors cat due to my current area (living opposite a bypass) and I was wondering if the area we’re moving to is safe for him to become an outdoors cat as I would not forgive myself if anything happened to him but I feel he should have the freedom he deserves!

Thank you in advance for any help!

Katie :)

    Hi Katie,

First I want to apologise for the delay in adding this post, we’ve just come back from holiday and I had lots of personal business to take care of, which has kept me from the computer for the past week!

I don’t really feel qualified to answer your questions because I don’t live near there, although I have many friends who do and are very happy. I’ve also heard many rumours (about all parts of Kingsway), but I’ve learned to ignore them and only believe what I see!

As for the cat, Kingsway has lots of lovely green space, so I would let him out (they’re like kids… sooner or later you’ve got to let go)

    Welcome to Kingsway :)

Hi firstly welcome to the area.

I am not far from where you are and also have a cat, we moved here just over a year ago. My cat Oscar did go missing a few weeks after we got here, he was micro chipped and someone did drop him off at the vets in Quedgeley so we got him back the next day. We kept him in for a couple of weeks after that. Trouble is as a Bengal he talks a lot when exploring and I think someone just thought he was lost, no problems ever since. Where we live are a number of speed restrictions on the road which is fortunate, you do still get a few idiots that think its a race track but they a few and far between.

As far problems with the area there are good and bad parts hopefully you are lucky and your neighbours show some consideration. If you need any more information please get in contact.
    Neil

    Welcome,

I echo previous comments regards Kingsway. I do not have a cat but there are cats around where I live which do cross a busyish road and as far as I am aware no particular problems encountered. I would imagine there are a few parts where there are 1 or 2 problems which to an extent is expected due to the size of Kingsway. I have been here over 7 yrs and not experienced any anti social behaviour though heard a few whining cats during the night on their feral nights out. Embrace the area, relax and I am sure everything will work out for you… don’t worry live in the present.
