Head Teacher Appointed for New School

We are very glad to announce that Mrs Paula Needham has been appointed as the Head Teacher of the new Primary School at Kingsway.

She takes up post at the end of April and one of her first jobs will be recruiting the teachers and support staff in time for the school to open in September. Next will be contacting all new pupils and their parents and welcoming them to the school.

To allow for people moving to the area, parents can still apply for places for their children at the school, even though the deadline for admission by the normal reception intake has passed.

Welcome to Kingsway Mrs Needham!

As at 12 February 2008 we have 79 applications for places across the entire age range, including 28 reception class children from within the Kingsway urban village.

    Hi Julian,

I am very excited about the new school and looking forward to my daughter (who will be in reception class) being one of the first pupils to start in September.

I have had a couple of residents from Kingsway ask me several questions about the school and would appreciate if you could help me in answering them.

    1. I see that Mrs Needham will be recruiting staff shortly after she takes up her post. Do you know if the positions be advertised locally?

    2. Will there be a pre-school section added to the school as the closest ones are of course Field Court (Little Owls) and Beeches Green?

I look forward to hearing from you,
    Angelina Scarian

    Hi Angelina,

All jobs will be advertised in County Council Vacancies On Line, I suspect that adverts for support staff will be in the local press, and Teacher appointments will be in the Times Ed.

There will not be a pre school group when we first open, but I will suggest it as a target when we draw up our development plan, but that will not be for some time.

    Julian

The job adverts are going on Jobs Go Public this coming week.
